M14 dmr

The M14 DMR is a variant of the M14 Rifle used by Ghost Recon snipers.

Real-world overview Edit

The U.S. Marine Corp reissued old M14 rifles as DMRs (Designated Marksmen Rifle). This new rifle is actually a standard M14 rifle that has been fitted with a polymer stock with adjustable buttstock, a pistol grip and newer optical scope. It is a precursor to the MK14 EBR.

As a Designated Marksman Rifle, the M14 is designed to engage targets beyond the reach of regular Riflemen (typically up to 800 metres) with accurate shots without relying on dedicated sniper/spotter support. A Designated Marksmen would be attached to the actual Squad and operate as part of a Squad like any regular Infantrymen.
