The L96A1 is a Sniper Rifle used by the British Army.

In the early 1980s, the British Army started searching for a replacement for their aging L42 Enfields. Accuracy International won the compitition set by the Army for a replacement and designated it's winning rifle the L96. It is a bolt-action rifle with an effective range of up to 800+ meters for standard caliber variants( 7.62x51mm NATO ) or 1100 meters for Super Magnum variants. The rifle featured in Ghost Recon is chambered for .308 Winchester ( 7.62x51mm NATO ) rounds.

The L96A1 appears in Ghost Recon and it's expansion packs. It is avaliable for use by Ghost snipers.
