— Haile's Specialist quote

Jodit Haile is a specialist who may have served with the Ghosts during the 2009 Eritrean war.

Jodit Haile was born on March 14, 1981 in Asmara, Eritrea. Her father Haile is a government employee, and her mother Ariam is a housewife. Jodit's father was a fighter in Eritrea's 30-year war with Ethiopia which culminated in the defeat of Ethiopian armed forces and Eritrea's independence on May 24, 1991. Jodit grew up in Eritrea's capital, Asmara, and was able to avoid the poorer conditions of the villages located outside the big city. At 18 years of age and still attending school, she was called by the Eritrean government to join the compulsory National Service. A fervent supporter of President Isaias Afworki, she joined the army in Sawa and was released after 6 months with distinction. Joined the EDF (Eritrean Defense Force) in 1999 to fight the Ethiopians as renewed conflict escalated along the border.

Personality and traitsEdit

Jodit speaks Tigrinia, Amharic, Arabic, English, and Italian. She married an Italian engineer but was not allowed to leave Eritrea by the dictatorial government. She gave birth to a son, Dawit, in 2002. In February 2004, rejecting a new wave of news about a resumption of war with Ethiopia, she joined a rebel group under the name of the Eritrean Young Democratic Front (EYDC) which eventually overthrew the government on July 18, 2005. She subsequently took up a post in the new Ministry of Justice.

In 2009, Jodit returned from an assignment in Sudan as hostilities once again erupted with Ethiopian forces seizing the coast of Eritrea. Because the previous dictatorial government was supported by the United States of America, Jodit rejected the idea of requesting help from Americans as part of the U.N. military response to aid Eritrea. Initially reluctant to work with the Ghosts, she has slowly become impressed by the professionalism and determination of the Ghosts to defend her homeland. However, when questioned by locals about her decision to work with the Ghosts, she prefers to smile and talk about her son, Dawit, leaving the question unanswered.

She has a scar on her left arm, from her military training.

  • Jodit Haile is one of the unlockable specialists in Desert Siege.
  • Despite being listed as a Rifleman in the squad-selection screen, her available kits are all those which make up the thirteenth through sixteenth Support kits in the quick mission or multiplayer modes of Desert Siege - a PKM alongside either extra ammunition, frag grenades, claymores, or a silenced M9.
