- "If I see them first, they're in trouble. If they see me first, I'm dead. It kind of reminds me of recess that way."
- — Henry Ramirez
Sergeant Henry Ramirez is a Ghost who may have served in the Russian war of 2008 and the Colombian conflict of 2010.
Henry Ramirez was born on August 17, 1983 in Modesto, CA. His father Enrique, who was a construction foreman, was killed in an onsite accident in 1985. His mother Beatriz worked a variety of jobs, and remarried in 1987. His family moved seven times before Ramirez was 10 years old before settling in Sacramento in 1993. He ran track, first through the local PAL and then high school. He enlisted one week after graduation and was assigned to 37th Armored Division for reconnaissance work.
He was stationed for two years in Germany, and for two years along the Mexican border. Attached in 2005 to Colombian Joint Southern Task Force as an observer on interdiction and crop-burning operations. Recruited by the Ghosts in 2006.
He may have served with the Ghosts in the 2008 Russian war and the Colombian conflict two years later as a demolitions operative.
Born in a Spanish-speaking household, Ramirez is fluent in both Spanish and English. After his father's death, his mother moved around frequently, which, combined with Henry's small size, ensured that he was consistently getting picked on by larger students. As a result, he rapidly got very good at running and hiding, as well as taking cheap-shots at his tormentors when he had a chance. Henry has a very cool relationship with his stepfather, and has not spoken to his family for four years as a result. He is soft-spoken, and is very sensitive about being shown proper "face." Ramirez has a particular dislike for short jokes, being called "Hank," or otherwise being shown disrespect, and will carry a grudge, though never into the field. He has few friends in the unit, but is extremely loyal to those few - particularly Jack Stone and Will Jacobs - he is close to, although even Ramirez can't get Stone to talk about his experiences in Eritrea.
Ramirez has a tattoo of a dragon on his left shoulder, and some scars on the right calf.
- Henry Ramirez is one of the unlockable specialists in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.
