The Mexican Rebellion was a continuation of sorts of the Mexican Civil War, which began just a few days later and was mostly contained to the border city of Ciudad Juarez.

Background[]

Just a few days after the Mexican Civil War, rogue General Juan de la Barrera and his rebels, self-named Los Niños Heroes (The Child Heroes), continued the conflict started by General Ontiveros by taking over the border city of Juarez. Shortly after the conflict began, multiple anti-American insurgencies exploded in Latin America, with Panamanian rebels taking over the Panama Canal, securing Pakistani-built Kashmira-II missiles. Captain Scott Mitchell and the Ghosts were deployed to stop the conflict alongside Loyalists led by Colonel Jimenez.

The Search for possible WMDs[]

After destroying the rebels' camps in the outskirts of Ciudad Juarez, U.S. intelligence began to suspect the rebels were transporting weapons of mass destruction, believed to be stolen Ukrainian Red Star IV nuclear warheads, inside the city, leading to the Ghost Team being assigned to help Colonel Jimenez's forces in the streets of Juarez.

During an operation to retake an occupied Super Mart to retrieve possible WMDs, one exploded inside the Mart's basement, killing an entire Mexican team and confirming that the rebels had WMDs. Heavy fighting would continue through the city with the Ghosts-supported Loyalists slowly retaking the city.

Black Hawk Down[]

In the middle of an operation to rescue a journalist who had interviewed De la Barrera, foreign mercenaries would reveal themselves on the rebels' side, shooting down Ghost Team's Black Hawk, with its pilot being later captured by the rebels to show the world that the Americans were intervening in Mexican affairs. A rescue operation was launched, where, after a long shootout with the rebels, the pilot was successfully extracted.

Barrera's Death and Revenge[]

Eventually, Ghost Team would locate and eventually kill De la Barrera during an helicopter fight in the middle of the US-Mexican border. However, unknown to the U.S., the foreign mercenaries would attempt to launch the last stolen nuke on the U.S., forcing the team to go to El Paso to find and destroy the last warhead, succeeding but leaving Ghost Leader Scott Mitchell heavily wounded.

With the death De La Barrera, the rest of the rebels would be routed and order would be re-established in Mexico and Latin America for the time being. The Ghosts' actions would be kept secret as was protocol.
